Around 1900 a lot of small private observatories popped up in the landscape. Before then only states, and universities, had the money to build them, and search the skies. Europe Denmark Victor Nielsens Private Observatory Victor Nielsen built his own private Observatory in the middle of Copenhagen, and let the public view the stars.
